First day of the new classic season couldn’t start better, and Antibes has show again to be one of the paradise of Sailing.

The forecast wasn’t good, storm and some showers, but the Cote d’Azur has showed to have a deal with the weather when needed, and all the sea was perfectly kiss by sun, light wind and small waves, perfect to sail.

The organisation machine is still really great! Big boats have showed their hungry of fighting already on the line of departure, with Moonbeam and the 15M class and Cambria very excited. But also the others classes were nonetheless.

The race track chose for the first day is one of the most panoramic on the coast, the number 3, from the front of the port to the bay of Juan Les Pin and the channel of Ile St. Marguerite before return to the external mark and arrive again in from to the fort.

Some boats like Cambria, Tuiga and Il Moro di Venezia 1 has show a very good performance, but for the last one, the crew is “sad” because will pay places in the standing due to the rating… but it’s part of the game, push the boat and the crew to max performance!

I will leave the classic for 2 day to a jump in the future in Monaco, because this year YCM has organised an IMOCA60 event, so I hope to have the same “parcours” and a press-boat to go in front to the La Garoupe on the Final Day.
