Sanremo, and all will think to Mike Bongiorno and the Festival of the Italian song with its red carpet, but today we are on the red carpet of the other theatre, the Yacht Club Sanremo, and it’s not second to the Ariston! The club has taken the responsibility to host the race (tomorrow the departure of the Offshore), and the mid prize given, that normally are in St. Tropez. Yes was missing the big party on the beach d/t the restrictions for SARS-CoV-19 are stil around (also the curfew is stil in charge…) but the parterre was full of stars.

The ceremony has started just few moments later the arrival of Magic Carpet 3, the Wally 100 owned by Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones was welcomed with all honors to the president of the club Giuseppe Zaoli and Umberto Zocca di Montelupo. On the stage of the ceremony there were all presidents of the clubs involved, the chief of Rolex Italia and the Italian authorities, all in the elegant classic “uniform” red trousers and blue blazer and tie. If this is not enough between the participants we can find, Mauro Pelaschiar, Tommaso Chieffi, Andrea Casale, Ambrogio Beccaria, Alessandro Castelli, Kito DePavant, Vadim Yakimenko, and so on, I cannot list all…

So pochi ma buoni, (n.d.t: few but good).

I’m not sure if Soldini and it’s fast trimaran have given up, I didn’t see any, tomorrow will see ( I hope not, I want see the monster!).

The weather is complicate, but at least for the first 2 leg it should be in downwind mode, but left the Giraglia rock, the way to Genova will declare the winner!
