Yes, yesterday I was right, the weather has been very complicate, in some way the forecast were correct: morning cloudy and raining, afternoon sunshine. I mean, as local I thought, they had needed a miracle to sail properly and so I’ve decided to leave my place on the press-boat and shoot from the coast. Carpe Diem Lost (some colleagues has the lucky to shoot a dolphin in the bay playing with bows and downwind sails), however I can use a different view of the race on my preferred course the n.4.

To understand the complexity (and we are not in Monaco), in the afternoon while I was waiting the departure from the small fort, the wind in the northerly part was N-E, on the field more N, and clouds were moving from west to east; waves in the Antibes part were formed, while in the golfe Juan part the sea was nearly flat and sunny. So the sailors have had the revenge on the “not happy” decision of the R.C. to get out earlier in the morning to “ciondolare” (n.t.r.:dangle) before start and we sailors we hate it! The R.C. has been however smart to rise H on AP flag!

As the sailor have fun, some others not: at moment I’ve to report 2 protest, one for the crash in the departure between Jour de Fête Q-16 and Rowdy NY-49, yes, as you can guess the first one has reported heavy damage and so the retirement (the starboard side has damage on the border of the deck and the first top planking has an evident separation from the others). In the same class one of the sailor of EMILIA I-2 while manoeuvring to protect the wooden boom has fallen and his knee had the bad, he has been brought in the hospital, we hope that already tomorrow he will join the big family of LVA!
Other retirement are listed: Myfanwy 18R and PITCH FRA-31; while Cambria K-4 + HALLOWE'EN - 2 +Denebola GA-19 and WINDRUSH II F-5900 have marked DNC.

The battle between the others in warming up, and the EAA class is the hottest: very impressive the performance of SCUD BH-12 (“una lippa” at the departure) but the P-Class will never give up! 
Tomorrow we keep fingers crossed for weather and the eye-balls on the the fleet!
