Well today it will be easy and fast to write the report, because we had the AP Flag from 10:00UTC till around 12:30UTC, and yes “ciondolare” (n.d.t.: lolling) for so long time has not been easy as for boats as for us on the press boat, in particular considering that the forecast were quite clear: no wind! Someone has made a swim to wait…

But, finally a breeze has entered the bay and it was a good one, around 10-15 kts no waves and still no clouds (alps included).

This has made our life complicate, which class and field to follow? After we has left the Delta field with 8mIR and 12mIR (still with AP Flag) we were able to reach the first departure of classic, following some for a while on the Alpha field with a route in the contrary of the usual a big triangle inside the bay: from “beach”, to the island, to the Delta field and back.
After mediations we went back to the heaven of the 12mIR.

Today the star has been Kiwi Magic KZ-7 and so they take the leadership, French Kiss F-7, made a good day with the second place, and NYALA US-12, has been able to keep the last podium. We don’t need foiling to solve sailing problems, just keep sails with monohull and make them able to sail between 1 and 6kts (it’s called Genoa): they are gorgeous to see and the team work on the ladies and the boom of the spinnaker.

Unfortunately we have to report at least 2 damages:
The first by radio we learned that Elena of London had to retired with a problem on the mainsail;
The second, walking down to the docks, I found Stormy Weather with the “support”, to set the second small mainsail, broken and they removed it (if I understood someone had kissed it during the race…) pity…

For tomorrow the forecast remain a nightmare, because they looks bad, but as we have seen today, it’s unpredictable!!!
We hope for the best, we have a new great driver for our rib, R, she is really good, a rare gem!
