S.R.: Agghiacciante start of the sailing on the Lario (yup ICECUBE race is back)

Let’s start from the “voci di sentina” that probably has reached you:
Yes, all crew and Race Officers are save and healthy,
Yes, the “new” R.C. boat acquired by the CVT had sink in probably less than 1min.
Why? This is the question, as the club before take her in charge and pay had ask to the the shipyard a detailed work of controls and if needed, to repair.
Now the concern of the club are the bureaucratic stuff and the pollution which could be generated by the fuel tank and battery; the problem is that she could be between -30 and -70m of depth
This event of course will bring a “stop” and a review to the future project of the club.
A Special thanks goes to E.B. that has left his Saturday program to run at the club and bring out his personal R.C. boat, and allowing the start of the races. Grazie EB!

The other reason why it has been a freezing start is due to the weather: overcast clouds, drizzle showers, new snow on the mountain above +600m of elev.and an air temperature just above 5-6[°C] (luckily no ice condition!). So an enormous respect to all braves sailors of the laser and the team of the club on the ribs in support, me, photographer included!
About the race, the start also has been complicated by a shift of wind, and the upwind mark. Due to the heavy rains of the night and days before, one of the propeller of the upwind robot mark has been blocked by some debris so human action has been required.

Uhmmm yeah I’m thinking that maybe the universe had some revenge for the decision to start the regatta Saturday at 07:00UTC instead of the usual midday (on Sunday, early start with Tivano is usual/mandatory, not Saturday with volunteers still working and some young sailors at school).
For the rest the 2 races has seen very smooth, a predominance of start from the R.C. boat, just a small island of stopped boats before jibe at the downwind mark but nothing else!
Now again crossed fingers for some warm Sun and a nice breeze of Tivano.
